Conditions we help treat

Care for what you're actually going through

Most people arrive with a tangle of symptoms and no clear label. These are the concerns we assess and treat most often in virtual psychiatric care — and if yours isn't listed, that doesn't mean it isn't treatable.

A hand resting on a soft blanket near a sunlit window

Anxiety

Racing thoughts, a body that won't settle, dread before ordinary days. Anxiety treatment can quiet the noise enough for you to think clearly again.

A sunlit reading chair in a quiet, calm home

Depression

When everything feels heavier than it should — flat, tired, far away. You don't have to wait until it becomes unbearable to be helped.

A single eucalyptus stem in a glass vase in soft morning light

OCD

Intrusive thoughts and rituals that promise relief and never quite deliver. An OCD evaluation is the first step to loosening their grip.

Soft folds of a lavender linen throw in gentle light

PMDD

Mood that shifts with your cycle in ways that disrupt work and relationships. This is real, it's treatable, and it deserves a careful PMDD assessment.

A sunlit desk with a notebook, pen and a cup of tea

ADHD

Focus that slips, tasks that pile up, a lifetime of being told you aren't trying hard enough. A proper ADHD evaluation brings understanding, not blame.

A freshly made bed in soft dusk light beside a curtained window

Sleep Disorders

Nights that won't come together, mornings that start too early, days running on empty. Sleep and mood are closely linked, and both can be treated.

Also assessed through diagnostic evaluation

  • Adjustment disorder
  • Life transitions
  • Panic disorder
  • Grief and loss
  • Burnout and work stress

Services

Three ways care takes shape

Whether you're starting from scratch or transferring care, the structure is simple: a real evaluation, a plan you understand, and medication management only if it earns its place.

01

Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation

One thorough, unhurried conversation by video — your history, your health, your sleep, your relationships, and what you want back. We look at the whole picture before naming anything, and you leave with a diagnosis we've discussed openly and a written plan in plain language.

Ongoing Medication Management

If medication belongs in your plan, it's chosen carefully and explained fully: what it's for, what to expect in the first weeks, and what we'll be watching for. Adjustments happen in conversation, not by default — the goal is the smallest effective dose that lets you feel like yourself.

Diagnostic Evaluation

A focused assessment when what you need most is clarity: depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, life transitions, ADHD, OCD, and PMDD. You leave with an explanation of what's happening, what it isn't, and the next steps that make sense for you.

  • Focused assessment
  • Plain-language diagnosis

How telehealth works

Four steps, no waiting rooms

Nothing to figure out on your own. From the first message to a standing appointment, every step is explained before you take it.

  1. 01

    Schedule online

Send a short request. You'll hear back within one business day with available times and clear pricing before anything is confirmed.

  2. 02

    Complete your evaluation

Meet by secure video from a private space of your choosing. First appointments are longer by design, because the first conversation matters most.

  3. 03

    Receive your treatment plan

Diagnosis, options, and next steps — explained in language you can actually use, with room for every question you have.

  4. 04

    Ongoing virtual follow-ups

Regular visits to check in, adjust treatment, and keep prescriptions active, plus direct messaging for the small things in between.

Why Kaur Psychiatry

One clinician who actually knows your history

I am a dedicated and compassionate psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 16 years of experience in healthcare. Over the course of my career, I have developed a deep understanding of patient care, clinical decision-making, and interdisciplinary collaboration, and I have stayed committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered mental health care that adapts to the evolving needs of diverse patient populations.

My clinical experience spans the evaluation and management of a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and OCD. I take pride in creating a safe, supportive environment where every patient feels heard, understood, and actively involved in their own treatment planning.

My approach is thoughtful and individualized. I combine evidence-based medication management with psychoeducation and collaborative goal setting, and I pay close attention to medication tolerability and side effect management, so that each treatment plan fits the patient's unique needs, lifestyle, and preferences.

I am especially drawn to telepsychiatry because it expands access to care and meets patients where they are. I am comfortable and experienced in the virtual setting, and I have developed strong communication skills that allow me to build rapport, assess symptoms effectively, and maintain therapeutic engagement over telehealth. I value efficiency, clear documentation, and continuity of care.

My goal is to help patients achieve improved functioning, emotional stability, and lasting well-being, within a collaborative and respectful therapeutic relationship.

Personalized care

A deliberately small practice. You see the same provider at every visit — not whoever is next in the queue.

Evidence-based treatment

Guidelines and current research guide every recommendation, weighed against your body, your history, and what matters to you.

Confidential virtual appointments

Encrypted video from home. No shared waiting room, no explaining yourself to a front desk, no one to run into.

Convenient follow-ups

Short, focused visits scheduled around work and family, so staying well doesn't cost you a half day.

Individualized medication management

Doses, timing and choices tuned to you — reviewed at every visit instead of left on autopilot.

"I would rather spend a full hour understanding your week than hand you a prescription in five minutes."

Frequently asked

Questions people ask before the first visit

If yours isn't here, we're glad to answer it directly.

Call 516-915-6826

Your first visit is a long conversation, not a checklist. We go through what's been happening, how long it's been going on, your sleep, health history, family history, and what you've already tried. We talk about what you'd like to be different. By the end, you'll have a diagnosis explained in plain language and a plan you've had a real say in.

Yes, when it's appropriate. Medication is one option rather than the only one, and it's never started without a full discussion of benefits, side effects, alternatives, and what you're comfortable with. If medication isn't the right answer for you, we'll say so and talk through what else might help.

You meet by secure, encrypted video — no app to install and no waiting room. You'll receive a private link before your appointment and join from a quiet, private place with reliable internet. For most psychiatric concerns, virtual care is equivalent to being in the office, and many people find it easier to speak honestly from their own home.

Kaur Psychiatry is in network with Aetna, Cigna, Curative, Highmark Blue Shield of New York, Carelon, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield (formerly Empire), and UnitedHealthcare (UHC). Coverage varies by plan, so if you're not sure, call 516-915-6826 and we will help you verify your benefits before your first visit.

Everything you share is confidential and protected by the same laws that cover an in-person office. Records are stored securely and never shared without your written permission, except in the specific safety situations the law requires.

About 60 minutes. Follow-up visits are typically 25 to 30 minutes. The first appointment is deliberately longer because an accurate diagnosis needs room for your story — not a rushed fifteen minutes.

For most conditions — including anxiety, depression and ADHD — research finds video-based psychiatric care produces comparable diagnosis, treatment and outcomes. If in-person care is ever the better choice for you, we'll say so and help you find it.
